    There are five factors to consider when buying a professional blender:

    • Power and motor type: the first factor to take into account when choosing a blender is the type of motor it has and its power: these two data, combined, help to give an idea of the capabilities of a model and the performance it can offer;
    • blade and carafe characteristics: a second very important characteristic to evaluate concerns the structure of the blade block and the carafe. We consider these two factors together because they complement each other: the design of the carafe and the blades complement each other;
    • delivery mode: another important aspect to consider when choosing a blender concerns the power delivery mode, i.e. what and how much control you can exercise over the speed at which the blades turn;
    • functions: the fourth factor we suggest you consider is the functions and programmes a blender comes with;
    • practicality of use: finally, it may be interesting to consider all those little details that can make a blender more or less convenient and practical.

    Why are the motor of a domestic blender and that of a professional blender different?

    Commercial models have, without exception, a DC motor, a type that needs careful use to avoid damage from overheating. In fact, DC motors are particularly susceptible to this type of problem and should, therefore, be used intermittently, for short work sessions, often under a minute's continuous operation; moreover, they need cooling breaks once every 3-4 work sessions.

    On the contrary, AC motors, fitted on blenders designed for intense professional use, are able to withstand, without overheating, work sessions as long as several minutes, also absorbing less power than commercial blenders, without losing performance.

    Summing up, then:

    • DC motor: commercial blender, short work sessions, high absorption for high performance
    • AC motor: professional blender, long working strokes, moderate absorption for high performance

    What material are Ristoattrezzature blender jugs made of?

    On the market, you can find jugs made of durable plastic or toughened glass, with obvious differences, advantages and disadvantages. Plastic jugs are very light and easy to handle but, conversely, they scratch very easily when processing hard ingredients and are generally more fragile. Glass jugs, on the other hand, are much heavier but do not scratch and withstand the stresses of food processing for longer. In addition, the safety standards of the materials themselves should not be forgotten from the point of view of consumer health: plastic, in fact, unless it is certified BPA- or bisphenol-A-free, can release this potentially dangerous substance on contact with hot food, such as soup, for example. Glass, on the other hand, is perfectly safe in contact with any ingredient, even at high temperatures.

    Ristoattrezzature has selected for you only those items made of the most advanced and safest materials on the market: our blender carafes are made of glass or tritan.

    Do you know what Tritan is?

    Tritan is an innovative polymer belonging to the class of co-polyesters, materials that combine good physical and chemical properties with the possibility of being recycled and the absence of harmful components such as bisphenols or BPA released by common food-grade polycarbonate. Tritan saves on material and maintenance without losing quality in the production of items such as bottles, office drinking water dispensers, plates and household appliances.

    To prove the actual properties of this new polymer, stringent tests were carried out to ensure that Tritan is indeed safe in contact with foodstuffs such as water, fruit and vegetables. Even after a long time in contact with liquids and under various temperature conditions, Tritan did not release any chemicals, certifying the safety of this innovative material, which does not change its special characteristics even after numerous intensive washings in dishwashers or after being subjected to very high temperatures.
